The powerful rhythm section of THUNDERSTORM - the Italian cult legends active through the 1990s and 2000s - has joined forces with the former vocalist of EPITAPH, along with a gifted guitarist from the lesser-known band MENACE, to forge a new entity: IV SIGILLO. Together, they unleash apocalyptic doom metal on their eponymous debut album, "Quarto Sigillo". Emiliano's quirky, haunting, often moaning and wailing vocals might evoke comparisons to David Bower of HELL or Gerrit P. Mutz. Unlike many albums where the bass is buried in the mix, here it takes on an exceptionally prominent role. While the grooving riffs drive the songs, the multi-faceted songwriting makes for quite a demanding listen at first. But each spin reveals more, and once their hooks embed themselves in your mind, they refuse to let go. This album is for connoisseurs of obscure and esoteric doom metal with a strong personal twist, rooted in the tradition of the Italian Dark Sound. BIOGRAPHY:
IV SIGILLO (Quarto Sigillo) was born in northern Italy at the end of 2021 from the ashes of the epic doom metal band THUNDERSTORM, from which they inherited the rhythm section with Omar on bass and Attilio on drums. They were joined by Emiliano, the voice on the first two albums of the doom metal band EPITAPH and previously with ALL SOULS' DAY. The line-up was completed with Dario, the axeman of the heavy/speed metal band MENACE.

The band got down to working on their debut album soon after. Almost all tracks started from a bass line and keyboards parts recorded at Omar's house. Attilio boosted them with thundering drums, Emiliano charged them with his charismatic voice, and finally, Dario added his dramatic guitars. All songs have been refined and pre-recorded at Guanella's studio lab during 2023. In February 2024, the band entered the Elfo's studio, a perfect secluded place dipped in the fog. In May, the same year, they finalized the album mastering at the renowned Newsin Studio.

After playing their first two gigs in Italy, IV SIGILLO were invited as opening act to the MOUNTAIN THRONE's "Silver Light" album release party in Göppingen, southern Germany.

The band contacted Metal on Metal Records in the spring of 2024, and received an enthusiastic response. Their eponymous debut album "Quarto Sigillo" was released on April 25th 2025. Expect Doom Metal impregnated with Italian Dark Sound which continues the tradition rooted in the sacred Sabbath and the typical Italian occult and ossianic sound.
