ELS FOCS NEGRES joins MOMR roster.
We are excited to announce the signing of Portuguese blackened speed/heavy metal maniacs ELS FOCS NEGRES for the release of their sophomore album "Martiris Carnívors: Himnes per a un Nou Apocalipsi".
ELS FOCS NEGRES may be a new name to some, but they are no strangers to the music scene, having collectively played in over 15 bands including FILII NIGRANTIUM INFERNALIUM, DAWNRIDER, RAVENSIRE, IRONSWORD, HELLSPIKE, OMISSION, RAGE AND FIRE, ON THE LOOSE and PERPETRATÖR, to mention but a few. Their self-titled debut offering was released in 2020 by Rafchild Records, and their new one was recorded already in 2022, but their former label more-or-less ceased activities around that time. After a long wait, the band's bassist Rick (whom we know personally from HELLSPIKE) contacted us, and we gladly stepped in. In the meantime, the album was released on vinyl by RagingPlanet and Firecum Records.
While obvious nods to bands like ACCEPT, MERCYFUL FATE, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN and VENOM are evident in their new songs, listeners more well versed in underground metal should notice influences from bands like KAT, BROCAS HELM, FILII NIGRANTIUM INFERNALIUM, OZ and PAUL CHAIN. Despite these similarities, the band's unique personality shines through in their unhinged approach, being certainly helped by the Catalan-sung lyrics.

We will release "Martiris Carnívors: Himnes per a un Nou Apocalipsi" on December 15th on CD, Bandcamp and all relevant digital platforms. The CD and digital edition will feature a completely different artwork from the vinyl version. Stay tuned for the cover reveal, new song releases and pre-order information in the coming days.
