Risen Prophecy
NEW ALBUM:
"VOICES FROM THE DUST"
The latest offering of RISEN PROPHECY is a superbly crafted concept album that redefines epicness. This British band have always straddled a fine line between thrash and US style power metal, yet "Voices from the Dust" unites both sides of their respective influences and goes further. Bringing more extremity to their overall sound, there is also a stronger sense of melody within their songwriting. You will find here a wealth of brutal, crushingly heavy riffs, punishing rhythm section with some blistering blastbeats and truly inspired solos and interludes. Last but definitely not least, there are the commanding vocals with a theatrical flair, mostly deep and manly, but also some impressive high pitched ones, often supported by choirs. The lyrics tell a story of a traveller who finds himself upon a scorched plain where all he can see is destruction and smoke and is enabled to travel back through time to witness the cause of the conflagrated desolation. This monumental sounding album is something all fans of ICED EARTH, UNEARTHED (FL, USA), SINDROME, SABBAT (UK), ARTILLERY, TESTAMENT, DEMONS & WIZARDS, FALCONER and FORBIDDEN should love.

BIOGRAPHY:
Hailing from the north-east of England, RISEN PROPHECY was formed in 2005 by Ross Oliver (guitars) and James Charlton (drums) who then quickly recruited Dan Tyrens (vocals) and Ben Oliver (bass). Since the beginning the line-up has remained strong and stable because they share the same influences and are best friends outside the band. RISEN PROPHECY's music is rooted in thrash but they take and mix in a variety of different genres, like US power metal and progressive metal, with a special leaning towards epic and conceptual songs.
In 2007, at the average age of 17, they recorded and released their first 2-track demo "Risen Prophecy". In 2009 the band recorded their first full-length album entitled "Screaming for Death" which was released independently on 1st of April 2010.
On the back of this album RISEN PROPHECY toured the UK extensively and were able to play alongside bands such as: CAULDRON, BATTLEAXE, CETI, SPARTAN WARRIOR (NWOBHM legends whom James Charlton joined on drums in 2011), SODOMIZER, VOMITOR and REZET. From these shows they gained a reputation for tight, unrelenting performances.
In 2012, the band started writing material for what would turn into their second full-length entitled "Into the Valley of Hinnom". The album was recorded by acclaimed producer/musician Greg Chandler (ESOTERIC) in the winter of 2013 and the summer of 2014. Soon after the the work was finished, they submitted it to Metal on Metal Records. Offering a deal to the band was a no-brainer for the not easily impressed label owners, as the music was 100% compatible with their tastes, and presented a quality much above average, both when it comes to songwriting and the technical abilities of individual musicians, including the vocalist whose range and charisma can't leave anybody indifferent. The album delivers a punishing blend of thrash, traditional and extreme metal mixed with epic concepts and melodic resolves. "Into the Valley of Hinnom" was released on April 24th 2015.
During 2015 and 2016, RISEN PROPHECY played many shows throughout the UK and Ireland including North of the Wall festival sharing stage with GAMA BOMB, BOLZER, MAEL MORDHA and others, and a tour with RABID BITCH OF THE NORTH.
In 2017, the band wrote material for their third full-length album entitled "Voices from the Dust". A concept album, featuring 11 tracks and almost an hour of new music, it tells the story of a traveller journeying through time to witness the different rebellions of Mankind. The attention to detail in the writing, recording and production of this album was of the highest importance to the band and RISEN PROPHECY once again enlisted producer Greg Chandler to record the album at Priory Studios. Musically "Voices from the Dust" picks up where "Into the Valley of Hinnom" left off, but takes every aspect of the band's sound further. The album is faster and heavier, yet also features more melody and harmony than their previous releases.
In October 2017, the band had the chance to play Malta Doom Metal festival alongside bands such like HELL, DESASTER, ATLANTEAN KODEX and DOOMSDAY KINGDOM.
In 2018, RISEN PROPHECY toured the UK and supported AVENGER, BATTLEAXE and POWER QUEST. After receiving the final version of their album "Voices from the Dust" the band approached Metal on Metal Records for a release in 2019 - the album saw the light of day in July.

"INTO THE VALLEY OF HINNOM" (CD)
RISEN PROPHECY from the UK straddle a fine line between thrash and power metal (of the US variety). These young guys have impressive technical chops but most of all, they have the most brilliant sense of song crafting, which has resulted in a really mature offering with highly developed, epic compositions clocking in at over 6 minutes each. The guitar solos are simply delightful here, riffs are crunching, and the rhythm section is super tight. And last but definitely not least: the vocals! The singer has some hellish mighty pipes, but it's also the theatrical way he uses them that makes him so charismatic: he delivers both clean and more brutal, snarl-like vocals, which sound really vitriolic, and adds some ear-splitting screams for a good measure. Overall, ICED EARTH seems to be their biggest influence, but you can also notice some similarities to TESTAMENT, SABBAT, DEFIANCE, FORBIDDEN, ARTILLERY, DEMONS AND WIZARDS and JUDAS PRIEST, and from the less known bands, to UNEARTHED, SINDROME, HELLHOUND and MAELSTROM (NY).
