NEW ALBUM:

"BOW DOWN"

After many years of silence, the German bearers of steel GRAVETY arise again, now fully fledged as a pure epic heavy metal group. Chosen by Cryptor to tell his tales through their songs, they'll lure you into the world of sword and sorcery and high fantasy adventures. The man behind the mic has a lot of character in his voice and a great vocal timbre that fits their epic arrangements like a glove. And they do have an ear for song composition like few others. Expect impeccable dual guitar harmonies, creative chord progressions, driving riffs, tight rhythm section with pounding drums and catchy choruses that you'll be singing in no time. If you can't get enough of epic metal in the vein of VISIGOTH, GATEKEEPER, TERMINUS, ETERNAL CHAMPION, ATLANTEAN KODEX, WARLORD, DOOMSWORD, GRAND MAGUS, BATTLEROAR or MANOWAR, the second album of these Germans is for you. The undead quintet is determined to carry on the flame of Heavy Metal.

BIOGRAPHY:
Back in the summer of the year 2008, five metalheads met for the first time. Their names are Kevin Portz (vocals), Gernot Gebhard (guitar), Philipp Albert (guitar), Simon Schmitt (bass) and Lukas Didion (drums). Simon and Kevin had known each other since high school and played cover songs since then, but their ambition was to write their own songs. The direction was clear: Heavy Metal. They had to find the right people, which led to the befriended guitar duo Phil and Gernot joining them, and soon after, Lukas crossed their path.

On the ides of March 2009, they found their name: GRAVETY, which consists of "grave" (mankind's destiny is clear, we will all end in a grave one day) and "gravity" (the force that causes a body to fall towards the earth, resulting in the feeling of heaviness). They rehearsed and started to write songs. One of their first tracks was named "Keeper of Souls", which they recorded in an old cinema. This song already showed their interest in fantasy themes, supernatural and horror.

After playing a lot of shows in Germany, organizing the Thrash'n'Doom Fest in 2010 with epic doom masters WHEEL, thrash metal maniacs GODSLAVE and French doomheads SURTR, they crossed the border to France and brought their fascinating live show to Nancy the following year.

In 2011, GRAVETY decided to record their first full length album "Into the Grave" in the SU2 studios together with Phil Hillen. Right before the release of the album, they played a big show at Metal Carnival and heated up the crowd for POWERWOLF.

The release show with ex- IRON MAIDEN singer Paul DiAnno was a full success. Many shows followed, but then family plans, the departure of a band member and career changes led to a pause.

In 2019 the supernatural entity known as Cryptor rose from the river Saar. Bound to an old grudge, he was imprisoned under the water. He was feared in many dimensions and in many forms. Now, that he managed to break his chains, he is restless for the right time to haunt the earth again. And he chose the guys from GRAVETY as his bearers of steel.

Fueled by Cryptor's power, the undead quintet started to write and record new songs. Cryptor gave them the new direction: Epic Heavy Metal. Once he was a barbarian king and now he wants his tales told through the songs of GRAVETY. With new strength, the band then recorded "Bow Down" between 2019 and 2021 in Tortuga studio owned by Gernot Gebhard.

In late summer of 2021, they contacted Metal on Metal Records and soon the contract was signed for the release of the band's new album that saw the light of day on November 19th. The first chapter has been written... and it's an order: BOW DOWN!
