In a world filled with copy-and-paste thrash metal, HOME STYLE SURGERY deliver a fresh yet old school take on a genre that rarely offers any surprises these days. Riffs and speed are the name of the game in this technical journey from one twisted mind to another. On their second studio album, these young Finnish guys offer eight tracks of straight to the point technical thrash with no filler moments. One refined riff and one intricate solo after another, over the complex drum fills backdrop, they show how stellar their musicianship is. That wouldn't mean much though if the songwriting was lacking, but they are just as talented as composers, putting hooks in each song. Their new singer also keeps things interesting with vocals spanning mid-range gritty to clean higher pitched registers, occasional pure heavy metal screams and even some growling too when drums burst into blast beats.
