Biography West Virginia based RACHEL'S COVEN comes from the upper Ohio River valley, where steel and coal industries once thrived. Three of the band's members, Jason Corrick (guitars), John "Novy" Nowak (drums) and Steve Riedel (bass), have quite a history of playing the club scene throughout Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania and gained their experience having played rock covers along with some original tunes for many years. At that time Jason was also playing with VICIOUS CYCLE which featured ex CONTROL DENIED frontman Tim Aymar, however the band split up in 2005.

Jason, John and Steve continued to forge forward, writing new material. They decided to do an all original metal project, but the initial singer did not work out and that's when Bill McKeen was approached regarding the job, at first only to get the material recorded. While working together on new songs in 2006, the chemistry was right there though, so the four musicians joined forces and from then on continued as a full-fledged band, under the name RACHEL'S COVEN.

The band's same-titled debut CD was released in 2006 and garnered many great reviews from all around the world. The band's style is a blend of classic US power with progressive metal nuances. One song off the debut CD, "Scarlet Night" was chosen by the editors of the leading German magazine "Heavy", for the bi-annual compilation "Metal Crusade" and appeared on its Vol. XV in December 2007. RACHEL'S COVEN promoted their CD with live shows, sharing the stage with good friends from ICARUS WITCH as well as other acts.

With the debut CD doing well, in 2008 the band decided to start the next chapter and began writing new songs. In the beginning of 2009 they were approached by Metal On Metal Records who recognized their uncommon talent and offered them a contract for releasing their next CD.

The sophomore album will be titled "Rachel Rising" and was originally slated for November 2009 release, however due to health problems of the vocalist/guitarist, Bill McKeen, the recordings were not finished. The band had to take a hiatus for the recovery time Bill needed and the release date of the album was pushed. If you're a fan of US power metal with beautiful guitar harmonies, inspired, soaring leads, powerful vocals and intriguing song structures with variety of tempos and moods, this band may become your next favourite too!
