We're pleased to let you know that several songs of our recording artists have been lately featured on compilations. MORTALICUM "Progress Of Doom" (from the just released debut album of the same title) and WISHDOOM "My Wish, Your Doom" (from the band's 2009 EP "Winds Of War") are featured among 10 other bands on the last "DOOM METAL ALLIANCE Sampler Volume 12". Ed Barnard, the man behind DOOM METAL ALLIANCE, is known in the doom metal scene for his huge dedication shown in an incredible amount of indepth reviews and interviews he's responsible for. Heavy Metal Mahyem 14-04-2010 >>> NEW BANDS SIGNED: MORTALICUM AND RAGENHEART. Finally we can announce the last 2 bands that we have signed for this year's releases! The first one comes from the northern lands and proves the quality of Swedish traditional doom metal. One listen to just one song from their MySpace and we knew we'd stumbled across a remarkable band. We wanted to hear more and when we did, we had no doubts left. MORTALICUM's music sounds so honest and natural that it seems like they were born playing it! They blend doom with good old heavy metal and '70s hard rock, having songs ranging from slow to high-energy bangers, always catchy and melodic, but with a really heavy and raw sound. So, their music is definitely not only for the genre's purist followers. Their debut "Progress Of Doom" will make many heads bang, especially those into BLACK SABBATH, GRAND MAGUS, RAINBOW, ASTRAL DOORS, DEEP PURPLE, IRON MAN, WALL OF SLEEP... It's time to let everybody know about our new signing and introduce the new member of the MOMR family... As we often say: to sign a new band we have to be totally blown away by their music - and such was the case with WISHDOOM, a young band from Thessaloniki, Greece. Their self-released "Winds Of War" EP from last year is about the best epic heavy metal we've heard since we discovered DOOMSWORD years ago and yes, while we wouldn't call it doom metal, their music is definitely doom-tinged, a perfect blend of both styles. Their usually mid-paced battle hymns sound mature and complex, displaying versatility, but never going astray. Crushing, memorable riffs, stomping rhythms, excellent singer with masculine and passionate voice, themes evoking the glory of the ancient Greek battles and myths... It's all there, topped with great production. Fans of the aforementioned DOOMSWORD need to check them out, as there's perhaps no other band that came so close to their style, but if you love MANILLA ROAD, Viking era BATHORY, early MANOWAR, WARLORD, PRIMORDIAL, OLD SEASON, BATTLEROAR, HOLY MARTYR or BATTLE RAM, these Greeks' music will be right up your alley too! The 7th edition of this festival will take place on 9th and 10th of April 2010, as always in the Chapel in Göppingen. Doom Shall Rise festival 09-11-2009 >>> BAD NEWS / GOOD NEWS The bad news first. Unfortunately there won't be a new RACHEL'S COVEN album this year. The band started tracking it, however due to health problems of the vocalist/guitarist and composer, Bill McKeen, was not able to continue and record the album in time for November release date. We wish Bill speedy recovery and hope that everything will be back on track soon. For the moment we had to move the release date of "Rachel Rising" to 2010. Due to this unfortunate event we had to quickly find a good match for BRUTAL HAND for the November release date. It wasn't easy, but the good news is that were lucky and found a more than worthy replacement for RACHEL'S COVEN... We'd like to officially welcome... FRANKENSHRED! What is this band, you may ask. Well, as you could have guessed: you're in for some serious (regardless the not so serious name) fretboard gymnastics. However it's not just shredding for the sake of shredding that would surely appeal to all followers of the guitar masters like Yngwie Malmsteen, David T. Chastain or Steve Vai. Dr. Frankenshred (who has already shown his exceptional talent in bands like COMMANDMENT and ST. MADNESS) is not only an outstanding guitar player, but a great composer too, who choses to work with the best musicians around, so expect some kick-ass songs with lots of hooks on the highest level. Stylistically the fourth (but the first with vocals) album of FRANKENSHRED "Cauldron Of Evil" is traditional US metal/speed metal verging on thrash, so if you're into early ANTHRAX, SACRED REICH, MELIAH RAGE, METAL CHURCH, REVEREND, RACER X, CJSS, early DEATH ANGEL etc. and of course if you don't mind brilliant guitar playing, be sure to check it out! SESTA MARCONI's brand of doom metal is definitely rooted in the genre's tradition from the '70s and '80s, but marked with the band's personal vision. They call it "doom'n'roll voodoo style"... In this place we wanted to state that we are not choosing bands by the city they come from, however now a third Seattle's group joined our roster. Don't be mislead by their name... fear not, we are not leaving metal! They may have some rock'n'roll influences (or: attitude), but the Metal Inquisition's verdict was clear and firm: METAL. Actually with very strong NWOBHM influences, strong to the point that you may be even tricked to think it's an original band from that period and country, just with updated quality production. We are thrilled to announce the signing of the veteran Swedish moshoholics, F.K.Ü., notorious for their old school thrash with a twist: those guys are real horror freaks (with special affinity to the Freddy Krueger flicks) and have their own way to let you know about it. You're up for some good laughs listening to the lyrics of the Horror Metal Moshing Machine (as they also call themselves) and you're very likely to get up and start moshing around impulsively to their catchy brand of thrash, especially if you're a fan of old EXODUS, OVERKILL, D.R.I., S.O.D. We have posted the interview Neudi did with Jowita Kaminska for the "STRIKE!" show on Streetclip.TV. Jowita shows the "KEEP IT TRUE Festival History Book" (the interview took place at KIT X, in Lauda-Koenigshofen), but also talks about the record label and cover artworks. And while staying in Warsaw, we were invited to the Polish Radio, Program III by Piotr Kaczkowski, a world renowned presenter and music journalist. He gave us half of an hour of his "Minimax" show the previous Sunday night (August 17th) broadcasting two songs from our new releases (NOMAD SON "Shallow Grave" and HEATHENDOM "Blissful Hell"), one from the upcoming CD (FALLEN ANGELS "Rise From Ashes") and interviewing us live. The band played in a small club, but to a crowd of over 160 headbanging metal maniacs who showed their support also by buying 65 CDs directly from the band that night. The gig was filmed with 4 cameras, so hopefully we'll be able to show a clip from this intense and energetic performance. Berry (vocals, guitars) and two musicians who are no longer in the band, Mike Allen (bass) and Andy Brookhart (drums), that were replaced later by Hank Ramage and Joe Bailey.
